Hotel Owners Urge Against Online Booking
Australian Hotel Owners are urging Australian’s to book directly through their websites when planning holidays, rather than booking through accommodation comparison websites such as Expedia and Trivago. Overseas booking companies are taking large commission fees from hotel bookings, depriving Australian hotels of the income they need. The ACCC is currently undergoing investigation into the online hotel booking industry’s operations and advertising. CEO of the Accommodation Association Australia, Richard Munro, joined us on the Wednesday Daily to unpack the issue.
