How AI can Misrepresent Indigenous Culture in the Classroom

The use of artificial intelligence generators has become a big issue for the education sector, with difficulty in regulating academic integrity and copyright. With many teachers expressing a struggle to incorporate Indigenous Australian perspectives in their lessons, AI is offering to help. But how credible is the information AI uses, especially from a culture where knowledge is passed down verbally?

This morning Dr Tamika Worrell, a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Critical Indigenous Studies at Macquarie University, helped us to answer these tricky questions.
