How Are Animals Cared For After Natural Disasters?

Earlier this week, hundreds of birds were injured or killed as a massive halestorm system swept through the southern NSW towns of Harden-Murrumburrah.

Responding in force, locals set up a makeshift hospital for the birds at the local showground, aided by local volunteer groups and animal rescue charity WIRES.

WIRES Emergency Response Manager Matt Godwin joined Rupert on Tuesday Drive to talk about the events and how the charity approaches natural disasters.
