According to the Australian Children’s Television Cultures (ACTC) research group, a lot of us have been rewatching classic shows like Round The Twist for their nostalgia and cultural impact. Netflix Australia even picked up Round The Twist earlier this year, and a live musical adaptation has recently been announced. So what draws new and returning audiences to cult classic Aussie kids TV shows like Round The Twist? And how big is the cultural impact of Aussie kids TV? That’s what the ACTC research group from Swinburne University of Technology are trying to figure out.
