Australians are going through clothes at an unprecedented rate, according to recent studies. Why are our fashion choices so harmful, and what can we do to be more ethical with our shopping choices?

Understanding how and why the clothes we wear might be harmful somehow to the world might be a hard pill to swallow for some, especially because most Australians will throw out at least one item of clothing a year. So how can we be more conscious of our consumption of clothes, and what brands should be avoided altogether? Dr Mark Liu, Chancellors Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Fashion and Textiles Designer at UTS joined Sean Britten on the daily.
