How Can We Support Breastfeeding Mothers in the Criminal Justice System?
For many mothers who are able to breastfeed, it can be a rewarding exercise, however mothers who are involved with the child protection and criminal justice systems may need extra support. Australia’s recently released National Breastfeeding Strategy is leading the way to directly call for justice and child protection systems to support women to breastfeed. We were joined by Professor Karleen Gribble from Western Sydney University to discuss how we can keep mothers and babies together as much as possible to provide them with breastfeeding support.
