How new hate crime laws fail to protect LGBTIQ+ people

The Minns Government has introduced new hate speech laws to NSW Parliament intended to reduce racial hatred, with new offences and tougher penalties.
However, there are concerns the laws will criminalise peaceful protest near places of worship and will leave some groups, including LGBTIQ+ people, vulnerable to hatred.
