We are sure you’ve heard of a number of medical transplants to fight disease and illness, but have you heard of poo transplants? Sounds a bit strange right but actually poo transplants from super donors are proving effective and are helping better treat inflammatory bowel disease and other conditions. Such transplants however rely on the donation of faecal matter from ‘super donors’ whose stool samples have strong results. This morning on the Daily we were joined by Justin O’Sullivan, Microbiologist, Professor and Associate Director at the University of Auckland  who discussed faecal microbiota transplants.
