Do you live in an area with plenty of trees? It’s a no-brainer if you’re going for a walk on a hot day, chances are that you’ll cross over to the leafier side of the street to get some relief from the heat. But are there plenty of trees where you live?
A new report called ‘Where Will All The Trees Be?’ shows the percentage of tree and shrub cover across Australia. It’s the third instalment of Australia’s only national tree canopy benchmarking report series.
We’ve had a couple of hot days this week and as another summer approaches, we decided to take a look at which areas in Sydney have had an increase in green cover and where the rate is decreasing?
We spoke with urban forest expert Meg Caffin who is a research consultant to this report.
