How the housing crisis is affecting Sydney’s urban planning with Dr Michael Fotheringham on 2SER Breakfast

The lack of affordable housing is forcing those priced out of cities to move to the outer city fringes, changing the functionality of major cities.

New infrastructure is required but struggles to keep up with population growth. Building outward also brings an emotional cost with people moving away from family and friends, having a longer commute, and becoming more dependent on cars, due to lack of public transport.

Dr Michael Fotheringham, Managing Director of the Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute, spoke to Danny on 2SER Breakfast to discuss how the housing crisis impacts urban planning for our fine city.
