How to self-love on social media with Millie Sykes
In this digital age we often find ourselves wondering, who am I online? How does that relate to who I am in real life? Every day we scroll past hundreds of other people using social media as a highlight reel of the best parts of their lives. Social media tells us we need to edit our faces, post pictures of our Aperol spritzes, and promote products. But it doesn’t have to be that way.
Millie Sykes is a local stylist, fashion blogger, drag queen and she’s using Instagram to influence in a positive way, promoting self-love and creative expression. Producer Maddy Stenmark caught up with her to talk about how we can use social media in a way that’s healthy for the soul. She started by asking if there is a disconnect between who Millie perceives herself to be online vs who she is in real life.
