Parents now have been tussling with the question of “when should I allow my kids onto social media?” for a while now. Plenty of research has gone into this subject, and the age most platforms recommend to use social media is 13. But where does this number come from? And is it too young to be allowing kids onto the big wide world of social media? To help tell us more, Alex Driscoll spoke to Dr Catherine Page, lecturer and researcher in media and communications at Sydney University.
