Meter maids, made famous for strutting down surfers paradise helping individuals avoid parking tickets have become over the last 5 decades iconic to the gold coast. However, is there much need for them? Is it now just purely an objectification of women?
The Daily was joined by the Director of the Space and Gender Lab at Monash university, Dr Nicole Kalm.s to talk us through the history of meter maids, and the damages and consequences that any woman who does promotional modelling may face in hypersexual cities.
