Increased Involvement of Defense Force in Counter-Terrorism
Terror attacks have become increasingly common across the globe, with major cities like Istanbul, Paris, London and Sydney all falling victim to attacks. Recently, Australia has begun implementing anti-terrorism measures like the bollards installed in Martin Place and Melbourne’s CBD. More recently the Turnbull government has revealed a proposal for reforms that give Australia’s Defence Forces a larger role in assisting police’s counter-terrorism actions. On the Daily we chatted to ABC Security and Defence Reporter Andrew Greene about these proposed changes.
