Indigenous Constitutional Recognition: A Referendum on the Horizon?
In his address to the National Press Club on Wednesday, Indigenous Affairs Minister Ken Wyatt spoke of the Federal Government’s aim to address a referendum on Indigenous constitutional recognition within the next three years. Against the backdrop of NAIDOC Week, and its theme of ‘Voice. Treaty. Truth.’ questions remain about what form of recognition we will see, and whether the support from the greater Australian public is there.
