Indigenous groups to hold NSW government accountable on Closing the Gap

Indigenous communities are being called on to have their say on the formation of an advisory body to hold government accountable on Closing the Gap targets.

The New South Wales Coalition of Aboriginal Peak Organisations wants to create an independent, Aboriginal-led body to commit lawmakers to meeting the targets set out in the 2020 gap agreement.

National Radio News Director Frank Bonaccorso asked Coalition’s Senior Engagement Officer, Mas Banu, why First Nations communities need to be empowered.
