“Insta-famous” Hyams Beach overflows with Summer Visitors
Have you ever been to Hyams Beach in Jervis Bay? It’s a beautiful spot about three hours south of Sydney and supposedly, it’s where you’ll find the “whitest sand on Earth”.
The beach has become a social media phenomenon, attracting thousands of Sydney day-trippers on weekends and public holidays.
But the growing tourist numbers are causing some big headaches for the tiny village, which is home to just over one hundred people with limited parking.
Tess had a chat with Mark Crowther, President of the Hyams Beach Villagers Association about the challenges of living on an “Insta-famous” beach.
