The International Brotherhood of Magicians
Some people solely associate magicians with medieval times, or maybe children’s birthday parties. And as a result, many people presume that magicians are no longer a prevalent part of society. However, in reality, they are more prevailing and active than ever! The International Brotherhood of Magicians, also known as the IBM, is the world’s largest group of magicians. Founded in 1922, the group has members in 88 different countries, and this includes Australia. Each country has a variety of localities known as ‘rings’, and these rings hold monthly meetings wherein members discuss the latest magical topics and practice new skills. Dale Trueman is the president of the Sydney ring of the IBM, he joined us to discuss the organisation and tell us about an up-coming lecture.
