International Day of the Girl: #doitinadress

60 million girls around the world lack access to education – in fact, a girl born in Sierra Leone is more likely to be sexually assaulted than she is to attend high school. Such is the importance of the International Day of the Girl – established in 2011 by the United Nations, it aims to recognise the rights of girls, and raise awareness of the challenges they face.

Today is the 5th Day of the Girl, and the One Girl organisation is aiming to send 1 Million girls to school in Africa. They aim to do this through the ‘Do It In a Dress Campaign’ – urging Australians to complete challenges while wearing a dress.

For more info, and how you can get involved, we were joined by Morgan Kergel, CEO of the One Girl Organisation.
