2SER has a huge day of programming in store for IWD 2024.

Annie from The Daily will be getting up early and stepping in to host Breakfast with co-hosts and producers Jenny and Annie.

From 9-12 on The Daily, Annamarie and Elle have a massive show planned. Kate Pinnock from Jailbreak will be joining The Daily between 10.30 to 11.15am on behalf of  listeners locked away or with a loved one inside who identity as women and non binary, who often feel unheard, unseen or misunderstood, especially on IWD.  Jailbreak is reaching out, sharing song from Dillwynia and stories of the people at CRC’s Miranda Project, who work and walk alongside each other, who inspire each other, who face the struggle withstrength and courage to overcome adversity. The Daily will also be joined by Lesley Parker, Kim Miller, Kween G and more.

Groove Therapy from midday will feature an interview with Janette Beckman who documented the birth and rise of both the UK punk scene and the USA Hip Hop scene, soundtracked with tunes from the era. DJ Jane Fondu and Christine from Wide Open Air Exchange will spin the tunes on Mighty Reel from 2-4pm.

Drive will be hosted by Veronika and Jasmine, with special guests The Honey Trap Sound System’s Maia and Sharmaine documenting women’s history in music.

From 6pm our resident pop doctors Dr Liz and Dr Jade return to the airwaves until 7pm, Across The Park and Gaywaves will keep the spirit of IWD rolling, as will our regular Friday night programs with The New Style hosted by Sharmaine at 8pm and Metal on the Margins with Jemma and Grace. Jemma also did our 2SER Femme IWD design for this year!
