Interview: Dean O’Gorman, star of Pork Pie

There’s a new Kiwi comedy opening in cinemas this week.

Pork Pie follows the escapades of a trio of accidental outlaws as they travel the length of New Zealand in a yellow mini, protesting conformity and chasing lost love, with a posse of cops and a frenzied media in hot pursuit.

If the that synopsis seems a little familiar you’d be right – Pork Pie is a re-boot of the 1980 New Zealand classic Goodbye Pork Pie.

There’s still a Murphy in the director’s chair – son Matt, rather than father Garry – but the cast is all new.

Pork Pie stars Dean O’Gorman – who you might remember from The Hobbit or McLeod’s Daughters James Rolleston and Ashleigh Cummings.

Dean O’Gorman is speaking here with 2SER’s Michael Jones.
