Interview With An Artist – Penny Lovelock
Each week on Thursday at 11:45am we profile an Australian artist – be they a sculptor, painter, weaver – someone working in the creative sphere.
Penny Lovelock paints women that make you stop and pay attention. The whimsical yet emotional power to her pieces is inspired by the landscape that surrounds her. Earlier this year, Penny lost her home at Lake Conjola on the South Coast of NSW due to the bushfires. She spoke with 2ser’s Willy Russo about how the trauma of the event has changed her and impacted her creative output. Rather than being crushed by the events, Penny is channeling an even more emotive and powerful creative energy. Her work will be featured in the upcoming Out Of The Ashes exhibition, supporting NSW South Coast artists who have been deeply affected by the bushfires.
