iParenting: Apple’s latest innovation
Kids used to be labelled as “digital natives” as they have never known a world without the existence of computers. However, the children of today have never witnessed life without smartphones and unlimited access to the internet. These kids can be classified as the “iKids” of our generation. To them, the world has always had on-demand access to music and TV and people have always been able to communicate through social media. Earlier this month apple introduced a new set of parental controls at their Worldwide developer conference that will see iOS 12 to assist parents manage their children’s technology usage. Michael Cowling, Senior Lecturer in Educational Technology at CQUniversity, joined us on the line to discuss this further.
