AI-generated images are increasingly misrepresenting Indigenous culture, with inaccurate depictions of Indigenous people and art appearing on major platforms. Some AI-generated images have shown random body markings and features that don’t reflect authentic Indigenous traditions. This raises important questions—are these just mistakes, or is AI contributing to a deeper issue of cultural erasure and exploitation?
