Is Religion Dead?

Australia might be turning away from organised religion but we certainly haven’t lost our spirituality. While almost 30% of Australians reported having no religion in the 2016 census, there is growing evidence that we are seeking adaptable spiritual alternatives. Meditation and yoga which both incorporate spiritual elements have enjoyed a renewed popularity in recent years as participants search for a break from increasingly busy and uncertain lives.
The Daily spoke to Carole Cusack, Professor of Religious Studies at Sydney University about this.
