Is ScoMo’s HomeBuilder Package the Real Deal?

The federal government has implemented a number of financial packages to help the nation’s economy through the COVID-19 pandemic. From doubling some government assistance payments, to offering parents free child care, to one off payments to low income households – most of the Morrison governments financial stimulus measures have been relatively well received, but ScoMo’s latest offering has left more than a few scratching their heads…

The new HomeBuilder scheme provides eligible owner-occupiers (including first home buyers) with a grant of $25,000 to build a new home or substantially renovate an existing home – but the total renovation must be valued between $150,000 and $750,000 and your property can’t be worth more than 1.5million.
