When you hear about human embryo modification it almost sounds like something from a science fiction movie .However in China in an attempt to create HIV resistant genes using twin human embryos, they’re doing just that! Unfortunately the experimentation led to failed results and has since raised concerns about the ethics involved.
The Daily was joined by Dimitri Perrin, Senior Lecturer at the Queensland University of Technology to talk more about the alteration of DNA sequencing and the repercussions of modifying human embryos.
