Is There Lead In Your Veggie Patch?

Do you have a veggie patch at home? Are you curious about whether the soil in your garden is safe to use? According to a survey from Macquarie University’s VegeSafe project, more than a third of the soil tested across thousands of Australian homes had unsafe levels of lead.

Since more than half of Australians grow food such as herbs, fruits, and vegetables, we decided to chat with an expert about the project.

The Daily spoke with Dr. Cynthia Isley, a postdoctoral researcher in the department of earth and environmental sciences, from Macquarie University.
