Israel Revoking the Residency of Palestinians living in Jerusalem

Israel just passed a law that will allow the minister of interior to revoke the residency of Palestinians living in Jerusalem. This will mean that the minister of interior can revoke the residency of any Palestinian in Jerusalem on grounds of a “breach of loyalty” to Israel. The 420,000 Palestinians who currently reside in East Jerusalem possess permanent residency ID cards and are treated as foreign immigrants by the Israeli government. Israel believes that this law will “protect the security of Israeli citizens,” however this law violates international law and humanitarian law. 2ser was joined by Kevin Boreham from the Australian National University.
