Jeff Apter shines a light on the elusive life of George Young

Coming out of Scotland, George Young the older brother of Angus and Malcom Young of AC/DC fame, would prove to one of the pioneers of Australian rock-roll, being part of The Easybeats and involved in the song-writing of classics like ‘Evie’, ‘Yesterday’s Hero’ and ‘It’s a Long Way to the Top’ along with being influential in the development of the careers of Stevie Wright, AC/DC, The Angels, Rose Tattoo and many other memorable Australian bands. Jeff Apter, having written biographies of Silverchair, the Finn Brothers, Jeff Buckley and many more musicians, has penned ‘Friday on My Mind: The Life of George Young’ and he chatted to Mick about the legacy of one the nation’s finest musical minds.

The book comes out on the 4th of August at all good book stores.
