Johnson Put On Notice For Leadership Challenge If Lockdown Lasts Into Spring
British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson’s position could be under threat if the current national lockdown in England lasts into late spring, with the Conservative backbencher Steve Baker, complaining that Johnson’s pandemic strategy was devoid of any commitment to liberty and personal freedoms.
To talk about this possible threat and Boris Johnson’s handling of the pandemic, Tina Quinn spoke with Professor Simon Tormey who works in the fields of political theory, European politics, social critique and continental thought. He was appointed to the post of Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law at the University of Bristol in 2019 and is the author of several books, most recently Populism: A Beginner’s Guide.
