Julia Banks Resigns from Liberal Party
Federal member for Chisholm, Julia Banks resigned yesterday from the Liberal Party. In her statement to Parliament, Banks cited the changing nature of the party and a lack of regard for women in politics as the reasons for her immediate departure from the party. She will now sit on the crossbench as an Independent which means that Scott Morrison will lead a minority government. With all these changes, it can be fairly hard to keep up with what it all means.
To help us unravel what this all means, we spoke to Dr John Hewson, former leader of the Liberal Party.
