Being incarcerated can disconnect you with the outside world for quite a while. Just Us is a newspaper, run by Justice Action, for people in the prison and mental health systems in Australia and New Zealand to help them make informed decisions in state and federal elections. Just Us has been running since 2004 but it wasn’t always smooth sailing for them. In 2007 the Supreme Court banned the newspaper from being disseminated in NSW prisons but after 2011 Just Us was finally allowed to be distributed in NSW prisons and mental health systems. 2SER was joined by Just Us coordinator Brett Collins from Justice Action, the organisation running this publication.
