Kenny Bedford from Reconciliation Australia speaks on The Voice
On Saturday, the 14th of October, Australians will vote in the Voice referendum. It asks one question: Whether the Constitution should recognise the First Peoples of Australia and establish a representative body called the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice.
The 2023 referendum is an extremely important moment for us all to have our say in acknowledging the Traditional Owners of these lands.
Kenny Bedford, a Meuram man from Erub Island and a Director and the Torres Strait Islander representative at Reconciliation Australia, came on to discuss the Voice referendum.
Listen along as Kenny explains what The Voice means, why we need it, and how it can help remote islands like Erub.
