The ALP’s Caucus meeting this afternoon ran a little late due to Public Transport Minister Ben Carroll from the ALP right throwing his hat into the leadership ring.

Following some protracted factional argy bargy the meeting ended with an endorsement for Jacinta Allan as Leader and Ben Carroll as Deputy Leader.  Jacinta Allen had served as Daniel Andrews Deputy prior to his shock resignation yesterday.

In the press conference Allen and Carroll were joined by new Minister Vicki Ward forming a youthful blonde trio to lead Victoria to the next election.

Liberal leader John Pesutto congratulated the new leaders but reminded voters that Jacinta Allen was the main architect behind the Commonwealth Games debacle.
