LGBTIQ+ community excluded from the Australian census
Next week, the Australian Bureau of Statistics will kick off the Australian census, which is helpful for policy makers to create policy and allocate funding to our community.
However, the LGBTIQ+ community has been left out by not including questions of gender and sexuality.
At this stage, organisations and the government do not have figures on the Australian LGBTIQ+ community, and organisations are advocating to include these questions on the next census.
