The Liberal push for marriage equality

To hold a marriage equality vote, or not to: that’s the question that will be haunting the Liberal’s meeting this afternoon.
The Liberals are holding a special party-room meeting to discuss whether they are going to pass a free vote on a marriage equality bill in the parliament. The party is divided on this, with a group of rebel MPs pushing for the free vote, while the conservatives want to first measure public support for same sex marriage through a voluntary postal vote.
The bill includes exemptions for religious communities and West Australian Senator Dean Smith believes it’s the most comprehensive marriage equality bill to go before the parliament.
