Long Walk Home: help the homeless and yourself
CEO of Wayside Chapel, Jon Owen speaks to the Drive about the very crucial work they do to help the homeless, particularity in the middle of this grueling pandemic. They have remained open in spite of the lockdown to provide food and services to help people experiencing homelessness with finding homes, counselling and much more.
Their annual Long Walk Home event is starting tomorrow and will last until next Friday. The virtual event asks participants to walk 28km which is how much on average a homeless person has to walk to get access to food, shelter or support. People can even make donations to help fund Wayside’s services.
