Looking at Cultural Diversity in Aged Care

The aged care royal commission has recently looked at diversity in aged care and the impacts it has to both their residents and the staff. Cultural diversity is especially important to consider. When thirty-seven percent of Australia’s population aged over sixty five are born overseas, it is important that these care services reflect a multicultural Australia and are respectful of a range of different cultural backgrounds.

Dr Helen Rawson, Registered Nurse and Senior Research Fellow from Deakin University, joined The Daily to talk to us about the importance of caring for culturally diverse residents in our aged care services.
