Losing Linda, Winning Sui Zhen

Following 2016’s Secretly Susan, and a couple of stints composing music for exhibitions at the NSW Art Gallery, Melbourne-based singer and producer Sui Zhen returned to bring us her third studio album Losing, Linda.

Much of it written and recorded in Hokkaido and Matsudo in Japan, the album draws upon J-Pop, bossa nova, and dub to explore themes of loss and mortality in the digital age.

Picked as our feature album a few weeks ago, we were lucky enough to have Sui Zhen sit down with 2SER Music Director Steph Liong in the studio to discuss Japanese love hotels, digital doppelgängers, and being an experimental musician in Australia.
