The Loss and Damage Fund at the recent COP 28 is a win for heads of states and governments. But many Indigenous groups think the Fund may be used as excuse to keep mining nickel in their sacred land.
To feed the West’s hunger for alternative energy, nickel and more mining is on the cards until 2050.
