Major Medicare Overhaul
Medicare is set to change under new funding in the Labor government’s May budget.
To relieve the public hospital system General Practitioners will be better equipped to handle a wider variety of cases including light trauma treatment, mental health and physiotherapy.
To achieve this goal the Medicare system has to take inspiration from general health practices from around the developed world. A team approach emphasising which allows greater control of a patients care by permitting health care personnel like admin assistants, dietitians, and nurses to aid a GP’s care of a patient.
