Man on the Money: Dick Smith
The electronics retailer Dick Smith has been accused of promoting the sale of now worthless gift cards during the Christmas period. The company promoted the gift cards by offering 10 per cent extra on gift cards bought through Coles and Woolworths.
Dick Smith, which went into voluntary receivership on Tuesday, is not able to honour the gift cards, and may not be able to offer their customers refunds.
So can you get your money back if you’re one of these unlucky customers? Probably not.
