Manus to Close: Where are the answers?
Manus Island detention centre has been slated for closure for the end of 2017. It’s good news after years of effort from 70 refugee advocacy groups and countless other protesters to finally give these people a second chance. Trump has also clearly expressed his displeasure over the Obama administration deal to resettle these refugees. What does this all mean for those in the detention centres? Natasha Bulcher, a Detention Rights Advocate for the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre joined The Daily to discuss these developments as well as whether any hope has been established as to when these refugees will be coming to our shores.
