Marvelous Monotremes History

Monotremes are a biological wonder native to Australia and the Guineas, which have kept scientists busy with more pieces of the puzzle to fit in for the last 200 years. Mammals that lay eggs, platypuses and Echidnas. One team of paleontologists came together during Covid to comb through all the evidence already discovered and they put a story of their history together. We were joined this morning to discuss that history is Dr Thomas Rich from Museums Victoria who was part of that research team.
