Mass Fish Deaths and A River in Crisis
The Murray Darling basin is in crisis as dead Murray cod that’s said to have been up to 100 years old have been washing up on the banks of the Menindee lakes recently. Accusations pointed at the government from the Greens and Independent senators have claimed that there’s more that the government aren’t telling us about the issue while angry farmers and Menindee residents are refusing to accept that the event was an inevitable result of the drought, as some of the fish had survived several drought cycles.
