Matchmaking Street Art Program

Graffiti is part of our everyday surroundings in Sydney. Many businesses and residents continuously try to deter the tags and sprawl that stain their walls but with little success.

The Inner West Council has decided to string their arrow and grab a bow and play the matchmaking game of matching artists with businesses and property owners to create inspirational street art. It’s part of an initiative to deter graffiti and bring in amazing street art.

In the Perfect Match Street Art Program, artists submit designs and ideas to bring some creative energy into Inner West’s public spaces.

We were joined by the matchmaker herself, Victoria Johnstone. Victoria is the arts projects and partnerships leader at Inner West Council and has been co-coordinating the roll out of the Perfect Match Street Art Program.

A street party will be held in Leichardt and Birchgrove on the 22nd June at midday and in Croydon on the 13th July, for details visit Inner West website.
