Medical Tourism: Does the Risk Outweigh the Reward?

Medical tourism is the practice of travelling outside one’s home country for medical or surgical treatment. This treatment can often be obtained at reduced cost in a different country, even factoring in the cost of travel.

But are there risks to travelling elsewhere for medical treatment? Joining us today was Professor Peter Leggat of James cook university to talk to us about the history and risks of this growing trend.
