Medicinal cannabis can now be prescribed in NSW
Starting today, NSW doctors will be able to prescribe medicinal cannabis to their patients. Until now, cannabis-based medicines have only been available to patients in NSW enrolled in clinical trials. Premier Mike Baird has said new regulatory changes mean the drugs can now be considered for patients who have exhausted other standard treatment options. But will it be the panacea that some pain sufferers are looking for, or are the regulations too stringent to make a difference.
