Melbourne Fashion Week celebrates multiculturalism on the runway
During this years Melbourne Fashion Week, the Student Collections Runway showcased emerging designers from institutions like RMIT and Box Hill Institute at The Lume.
The event celebrated multiculturalism, with designers inspired by global traditions and personal heritage, highlighting both technical skills and storytelling through fashion.
The 2024 Student Award winner, Nam Tram from Box Hill Institute, Spoke with The Wire’s Vanessa Gatica about his collection called “Behind the Bamboo,” which honours the daily lives and craftsmanship of Vietnamese women.
